Romantic Star comes from a long line of champions. His sire, Ramiro's Son II, a License Class I Holsteiner by Ramiro had many wins at Grand Prix in the Jumping world with his rider Soren Von Ronne. Romantic Star's dam is Pirola by Pinkus, a License Class I Hanoverian by Pandur.

Romantic Star is an Elite License Class I Hanoverian stallion, also approved by the GOV Main Stud book I, Premium status with the ISR with 228 points, named Stallion of the Year with the AWS in 2001. Romantic Star received a 10 for his character, 9's for temperament, willingness; 8's for constitution, walk, canter, rideability at his 100 day testing.

He has shown in both dressage and jumping shows successfully. He is a superb athlete and excels in many disciplines including dressage, jumping, and as a hunter Jumper. He not only exhibits extreme willingness to learn and an eagerness but is extremely light to ride.

Romantic Star was a very successful breeding stallion in Germany before he came to the US. He was owned by Detlef Saul who was three times World Champion breeder in Jumping in 1996-1997-1998 and was third place in the world in 2000.

In 2004, he had 19 approved sons and over 200 foals, all sharing their sire's excellent traits and abilities for both jumping and dressage .

In 2005, Renaissance had many wins at the breed shows including High score AWS & first place PHR at the VADA NOVA DSH Breed show & the Morven Park Breed Show I. Renaissance also qualified to show at the 2005 Cosequin /USDF Breeders Championship East Coast Series.

Juliet, a 2002 filly was 1st place 3 year old filly, Reserve Champion filly, High score Oldenburg GOV Open show, 1st Oldenburg GOV IBC & 1st place PHR IBC at the Twin Shows DSH Breed show. Juliet also qualified to show at the 2005 Cosequin/USDF Breeders Championship East Coast series.

In 2003, Romantic Star won the Get of Sire class for the non thoroughbred division at the Upperville Horse show, A 2003 colt won the non thoroughbred Foal class at Upperville and was Reserve Non TB Champion. A 2002 filly was Reserve champion at the MD Horse Shows Association Hunter breeding Yearling Futurity in September 2003.

A 1999 son, Reno Star had a very successful show season on the West coast winning numerous classes at the CDI at Golden State Marietta, High Point Champion at the Jefferson Show in Oregon and won the Futurity class with a 75.9% at the ODS Championship in Sherwood, Oregon.

In 2002, his colt Romo Star won the Keuring for the Baltic Hanover verband. In 2005 Romo Star competed at the World Championships for 5-6 year olds in Belgium.

"I'm one of a very few people who has previewed an incredible number of Romantic Star offspring both in the US and Europe. I've had four in my barn (from different mare lines) and they are a pleasure to work with not to mention they are incredibly athletic. All four are trained as dressage horses but they also have a beautiful jumping technique both through the chute and under saddle. They could compete in either discipline. Another interesting aspect is that they are incredibly affectionate and love attention! Rather big characters. So, you see, I'm rather impressed with what he produces.
